Zauberzentrale München Willkommen in der Welt der Wunder

Ted Outerbridge

  1. About Magic
    1. Wie kamen Sie zur Zauberkunst?

I was seven years old when I first met Magic Tom at a local restaurant, and I remember the goose bumps he gave me when he produced an egg from behind my ear. A few years later I watched Tom perform a miracle with colored handkerchiefs (20th Century Silks) on television, and I still remember where I was standing as I witnessed this impossible feat. This was a turning point for me, and then and there I decided I wanted to become a magician.

I performed my first “professional” show for $5 at a friend’s birthday party as “Magic Ted”. I was 12 years old. The experience was both terrifying and exciting. I began my performance with the 20th Century Silks. I vanished a handkerchief and it reappeared tied between two others. Five minutes later the vanished handkerchief re-appeared hanging out of the back of my jacket! Oops! I learned some valuable lessons from this performance/nightmare: Learn how to use a pull properly and never perform with your back to a full-length mirror.

Audiences love to be entertained by a charismatic gentleman, and Montreal magician Magic Tom Auburn was a prime example. Tom treated his audiences and volunteers with great respect and he entertained with kindness.

In 1979 I attended the Tannen Magic Jubilee and it was an incredible experience for me. Highlights included working at the Morrissey Magic booth and meeting magic legends like Harry Blackstone Junior and David Copperfield.

    5. Haben Sie einen aktuellen Lieblingstrick?

The Gypsy Thread, also known as the Hindu Thread, is a classic of magic that has been performed by legendary magicians such as Mark Wilson, Slydini, Doug Henning, David Blaine, and Eugene Burger. The plot is simple but it can be very powerful. The Gypsy Thread or Hindu Thread was written up in several books published in the 1500s, including Reginald Scot's Discoverie of Witchcraft ("To burne a thred, and to make it whole againe with the ashes thereof") published in 1584. It has been around for a while!

Discoverie of Witchcraft by Reginald Scot Experience of Magic by Eugene Burger Modern Coin Magic by J.B. Bobo

    7. Gibt es etwas, was Sie an Zauberkollegen stört?

Magic can be an art form and when it is I love it. When it is just a puzzle I am less intrigued.

  2. Beyond Magic

I love to create beautiful experiences for people who I care about.

    2. Welche prominente Persönlichkeit würden Sie gerne einmal treffen?

Madonna would be an interesting person to have dinner with.

    3. Was war Ihr größter persönlicher Erfolg?

My marriage to my wife Marion was the ultimate magical moment for me.
